For those unfamiliar with the Aiken South Carolina equestrian community, you are missing out on a real jewel. This quaint equine community is a haven for horse enthusiasts of all breeds, ages, and disciplines. You can find everything from the backyard small horse farm owner, all the way up to several hundred acre luxury estates with mansions – and everything in between. Aiken SC has become a popular retreat for many participants in Combined Training (commonly referred to as Eventing). For those that may be unfamiliar, combined training/eventing is a combination of 3 types of English style of riding which includes: Stadium Jumping, Cross Country Jumping, and Dressage. Its quite the test of endurance for both horse and rider, as they must be able to perform well in all 3 types of riding/testing to score well in the competition.
